Should I wear Extensions for my wedding?
Updated: Aug 26, 2022

Whether you’re a bride-to-be or plan to get your hair done for an event, you’ve probably spent time scrolling and swooning over the gorgeous Pinterest-worthy styles on your feed (as you should!). But what is exactly the secret to achieving those chunky braids, full updos, and gorgeous half-up styles? I’ll tell you: they all use hair extensions.
It’s true! There’s no shame in the hair extension game. There is a wide range of extension types-you’ve got options!
Let’s break them down.
There are two main categories of hair extensions: temporary extensions, like clip-ins and halos, and permanent extensions, like tape-ins, wefts, I-tip, and K-tip.
Pro stylists can choose to specialize in or offer certain types of extensions with their services. If you’re considering extensions, check with your stylist beforehand! If they don’t offer them, they might be able to refer you to an extension specialist they know and trust.
I have been using hair extensions on my bridal and special events clients for years! They’re great for upping the glam factor on any look. A common misconception is that extensions are only used for extending the length of your hair, as the name suggests. But the truth is, extensions can be used on people with any length of hair to increase their style’s volume and fullness! They can even help your style last longer–perfect for those long (fun!) wedding days.
A good quality hair extension that can be cut and heat-styled just like your natural hair will ensure a seamless blend. There are many reasons why I love clip-in extensions, but the main one is that they’re a cost-effective way to get the look you want, without the long-term commitment and upkeep of permanent extensions.
My favorite clip-in extensions are from Zala, and I love using them on my clients! Zala extensions are made from 100% human Remy hair, so they can be styled just like natural hair, and they offer a wide range of beautiful colors and lengths. I love helping my clients choose their perfect color match when we use Zala extensions, but if you’re purchasing for your own personal use, Zala also offers a free color matching service. And, if you want $20 off your Zala order you can use my code JULIAHAIRZALA.
I would love to chat more about extensions and how we can use them for your special day. To contact me, fill out an inquiry form or send me an email at hairbyjuliavargas@gmail.com
